In orthodontic therapy elastics and elastomeric chains are commonly used as an active component. These synthetic elastic materials not supposed to be ideal, they sensitive prolonged exposure saliva, water, enzymes, temperature variations external factors. The main disadvantage of auxiliaries is their inability sustain the delivered force for extended period time. objective this review determine time taken by degrade after stretching assess oral environment factors affect decay chains. Databases such PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library searched electronically.
